Curriculum / Syllabus Introduction

Grades are a way of recording and passing on technique and accessing a students progress, they do not measure a students 'martial arts' competance' in the sam eway that holding a driving lisence doesn't make you a good driver.

Some schools don't use a grading system, there's nothing wrong in that, in the same way that using a system for the reasons stated above is perfectly acceptable - you pay your money and takes your choice.

Please note that the IAJJ is not in the business of promoting students through the ranks for monetary or prestige purposes. The only way for a student to advance is to train regularly and over a long period of time.
