Team Beds & Luton LogoBorn out of the Sport England's Active Sports initiative, team BEDS&LUTON is one of 49 County Sports Partnerships (CSPs) spread across England.

The purpose of these CSPs is to actively encourage increased participation in sport and physical activity for all age groups and abilities. They will do this by:

‘working in partnership at the heart of the community to support, develop and promote high quality opportunities to allow everyone to get involved, stay involved and succeed in sport and physical activity’.

Each County Sports Partnership has a strategic Business Plan, approved by Sport England and which has aquired secured funding. The BEDS&LUTON CSP Business Plan lists 7 areas of commitment:

  • Vision and Profile – Act as a voice for and raise the profile of sport in and beyond the county
  • Access to Sport – Strive to remove barriers to involvement in sport, ensuring that people have the opportunity to be the best that they can
  • Player Development – To ensure that the development of the player is central to the work of the partnership
  • Workforce Development – To build quality and capacity into the professional and volunteer workforce
  • Physical Activity – To encourage participation in sport and physical activity for the benefits of health
  • Club Development – To support the development and sustainability of sports clubs
  • Sporting Infrastructure – Facilitate a co-ordinated approach to the development of sport
In addition to these initiatives is the GET BACK INTO plan. Get Back Into is for anyone 16 years or older, who wants to start playing sport again or take up a more active lifestyle. Led by experienced coaches, the emphasis is geared towards a gentle re-introduction back into the activity of their choice and hopefully rediscovering the joys and benefits and fun inherent in healthy physical pursuits.
