| MESSAGE TO PARENTS SPORT JU-JITSU CLASSES: Dear Parents Your children already attend self-defence Ju-Jitsu classes, but did you know that we also teach Sport Ju-Jitsu? Sport Ju-Jitsu enhances the student's techniques and stamina and gives them the opportunity to test themselves against others in competition. Two of our adult students were in the British Sport Ju-Jitsu Squad that attended the WJJCO, World Championships in Canada last June, where GB successfully retained the World Team trophy. We want to ensure our club's success at international level in the future by training some of our younger students; perhaps we have GB Squad members in the making? Training in Sport Ju-Jitsu is separate from traditional Ju-Jitsu. There are rules, which must be studied. These rules, like any sport are to ensure fair play and the safety of competitors. It is a semi-contact sport, very exciting to participate in and to watch. If your child is interested in participating in this exciting sport come along to one of the sessions listed below and let them have a go. Training dates and times for Junior Sport Ju-Jitsu are as follows: Monday: Hockwell Ring Community Centre - 7.30 to 8.30pm Friday: Dunstable Leisure Centre - 7.30 to 8.30pm Saturday: Dunstable Leisure Centre - 4.00 to 5.00pm Please note that Sport Ju-jitsu classes are only available to students who attend tradition Ju-Jitsu classes. The basic skills and techniques used in Sport Ju-jitsu are taken from traditional self-defence Ju-Jitsu. Please also note that we have our third IASJJ/AMA Invitation Sport Ju-jitsu competition taking place at Dunstable on 26th June. If there are any students who have not trained in Sport before but who would like to be considered for selection for this competition you need to start attending Sport Ju-jitsu classes NOW!
