Volume 3 Issue 9 - November/December 2002

Ryan Hendry - Black belt
Congratulations to Ryan Hendry on successfully passing his black belt grade in November. Those who have helped Ryan with his preparations over the last few months know how hard he's worked and the commitment required to pass such a prestiguous grade. Thouroughly deserved - well done!

Junior Sport Jujitsu Competition Robertown 9/12/02
This was a small competition by invatation only. Six of our fighters took part with five of them winning medals. It was a great day, enjoyed by all with some closely contested bouts. Many thanks to the organisers and a special mention for Craig Alexander, who was involved in the first and probably most aggressive fight of the day and little James Readfern, who narrowly missed out on a bronze medal after a split desicion but proved once again that having the heart to compete and doing your best makes you a winner with or without a medal.

Medal Winning Positions and fighters:
Charlotte Cowan followed up her Gold winning success earlier in the year with a silver.

Kayliegh Wheeler - Gold medal winner at first attempt.

Laura Blanchard Gold, previously a silver medal winner.

Jaques Ward, fought in the most competitive category and won Gold at first attempt with Craig Alexander a bronze medal winner in the same category.

James Readfern narrowly missed out but nominated our December Student of the Month.
