Back to Back Competition

Congratulations to Jason Bedford on reaching the second round of the recent back to back ground grappling competition held in Dewsbury. He trained very hard for the event, even while the midweek training sessions were closed for the holidays. It was his first competition and he assures me it will not be his last. Only 2 fighters were able to compete on the day, Jason, already mentioned and the irrepressible Dean Flynn competing in the cadets section. Dean is probably our most experienced competition fighter and will be the first to admit that he's a stand up fighter rather than a ground grappler. But once again he acquitted himself magnificently winning all his bouts and gaining the coveted goldspot. Dean and Jason regularly train at the Sport Jujitsu sessions run by the club and prove that dedication and hard work (and a little talent) are the keys to success. If you fancy having a go your self then come along to the sessions held on Saturday's at Dunstable or Hockwell Ring on Monday nights. There is the possibility of a junior Sport Jujitsu competition in December. We'll keep you posted.
